Welcome!

Allow me to properly introduce myself...(and my book)

I’m so excited - and nervous - to share my book and love of writing with all of you lovely people. But we’ll get there in a minute. Let’s start with a few snippets about me and my whole ~deal~.

Hi, I’m Adrianna. Although I’ve been writing from the moment I could hold a pencil, very few people in my personal life know it’s a passion of mine. Well, until now. Now everybody knows, and that’s absolutely terrifying to me. It was a secret I hid underneath my humor and love of all things film and television. Don’t get me wrong, I love the camera and wouldn’t trade my acting school experience for anything. But there is - at least to me - a big difference between performing words that have been written for you and writing the words for someone else to read. A bad actor is a bad actor, but a bad writer? Ouch. That feels way more personal to me. So I kept my writing private and only shared it with my siblings, who also write. It took years for me to even share it with my husband.

Fast forward to now; I’m married with two kids. I’ve learned that the older I get, the less I want to care about what others think about me. Whenever I’m struggling with the anxiety that inevitably comes with putting yourself out there, I remind myself that there are two people watching how I carry myself and handle judgment. Fake it ‘til you make it, right?

With that out of the way, let’s jump into my book!

Tempest is the first novel in the Eye Of The Storm series. There will be three books, and each of them will have a ~stormy~ title. Our protagonist names herself Ella after having lost all memories and sense of self. She soon discovers she’s a mage capable of harnessing lightning and elements of the night sky. After a brief encounter with a young lord, she finds herself employed as his magical advisor and must impress him with her magical prowess while giving him political advice on the impending civil war. They reside in the North, and the South and the East are at war with each other, both requesting aid from the Northern council. With most mages coming from the South, Ella begins to question who she is, why she ended up in the North, and who her allegiance should truly belong to.

Ella is the primary point of view character of the book, but there will be two other point of view characters; Julian, the lord who employs Ella, and Wesley, the assassin hired by Julian.

I’ll be posting the first chapter soon, and if requested I’ll post the second chapter. In the meantime, if there’s anything about me, my writing process, or Tempest that you’d like more information about, let me know! I would love to answer questions.

‘Til next time,
