Sassy Scribbler Updates
Hello there!
It’s been a minute. Let me fill you in on what’s been happening!
I struggle with a few health issues from time to time, hence my short absence. Because of this, I’ll be updating this newsletter bi-weekly instead of weekly.
With that aside, I received my first rejection from a literary agent! It might seem strange to be excited about that, but they answered, which is already a rarity. Their rejection was incredibly polite. They told me they were not the right agent for me and, looking back, they weren’t. They were the first agent I submitted anything to, and I hadn’t done enough research to figure out the kind of agent I wanted. I just sort of…threw it out there. This time, I spent a whole day researching agents and agencies before narrowing it down to three people. I sent out an inquiry to my top choice, and if I do not receive a response from them I’ll continue on down the list. As much as I want to be one of the few authors to find an agent immediately, chances are I’ll have to sift through a few (or a lot of) rejections first.
I have temporarily shifted my attention away from the Eye Of The Storm series to focus on rewriting my fantasy romance novel titled Saints & Martyrs. It was one of the first things I ever wrote, and it went through extensive changes and rewrites before I published it as a choices game on the Episode app in 2020. I have now decided to convert it into a novel, which has been surprisingly fun.
With summer halfway over, I have dedicated time to get my kids outside. My amazing in-laws have a pool and we live right next to a park, which is really as convenient as it gets.
Me and my littles enjoying the sun.
A full description of Saints & Martyrs is available on my website and Facebook page. I will continue to post updates about Tempest and the publishing process. Let me know what else you want to hear about!
‘Til next time,
