Saints & Martyrs
~The Romance Novel~
With so much of my newsletter focusing on Tempest, I thought I’d take a detour and give you some information on my fantasy romance novel, titled Saints & Martyrs!
Unlike Tempest, this story is not going to be part of a trilogy. There will be a sequel eventually, but the brunt of the story will be wrapped in the initial book. Saints & Martyrs is my first completed story that has a completely romance-driven plot.
Let’s get into it, shall we?
Our protagonist, Lyric, is a twenty-three year old woman with a penchant for trouble. She continually suffers through near-death experiences, but there is a mysterious stranger who saves her at the last minute every time. She is persistent in her attempts to find out who he is, and after some time, she discovers that she has a guardian angel by the name of Milo. But unlike other angels, he’s a loner with a soft spot for humans. It doesn’t take long for their feelings to shift from friendly to romantic. Romance between angels and humans is strictly forbidden, but their attraction to each other is too strong to ignore. When they give in to their feelings, dozens of Milo's memories are unlocked. This is not the first relationship they have shared; they have a history spanning five centuries. Heaven has gone to great lengths to keep an eons long prophecy hidden. With the angels scrambling to do all they can to keep them apart, their relationship becomes a ticking time bomb. They must do all they can to keep history from repeating itself. Lyric’s life depends on it.
Lyric is the primary point-of-view character, but there will be chapters in the points-of-view of Milo, her guardian angel, and Alex, her former high school sweetheart who comes back to town.
This story is set in modern New York, but there will be moments set in 18th century New Orleans and 19th century England.
A few quotes from the book have been added to the front page of my website. Check them out here: www.adriannalittlejohn.com
